Is it risky for women with a history of breast cancer to take estrogen replacement therapy'

The controversy raged on in the July 1999 issue of Contemporary OB/GYN ("Should ERT Be Prescribed for Women Who Have Had Breast Cancer'" Contemporary OB/GYN, July 1999;44(7)).

On the "yes" side, William J. Creasman, MD, of the Medical University of South Carolina, asserted that it has been merely the "opinion" of medical providers that ERT is detrimental to patients with a history of breast cancer.
