Adjuvant Interferon Therapy May Be Beneficial in Renal Cell Carcinoma

A retrospective study of renal cell carcinoma (RCC) in pediatric patients suggests that adjuvant interferon therapy is beneficial.

H. Asanuma and colleagues from the Tokyo Metropolitan Kiyose Children's Hospital, Japan, analyzed the presentation, treatment, and survival of four children with renal cell carcinoma. They retrospectively reviewed the pathological and hospital records of the four Japanese children who had been diagnosed with renal cell carcinoma at their hospital from 1970 to 1998.
