Extruded DOTAP:Cholesterol Liposome Used for Gene Delivery

Nonviral vectors are being rapidly developed for the treatment of various diseases.

Nancy Smyth Templeton from the Baylor College of Medicine, Texas, USA, recently presented data on the progress being made in the use of extruded DOTAP:Cholesterol liposome mediated delivery of nucleic acids in various disease models. Her update was presented at the conference Gene Therapy: Delivering the Medicines of the 21st Century, held November 7-9, 1999, in Washington, DC, USA. The title of her report was "Nonviral Vectors for the Treatment of Disease."
