Eukaryotic Initiation Factor May Have Prognostic Role

Eukaryotic initiation factor-4E may have a role as a prognostic factor in bladder cancer, according to researchers in England.

J. P. Crew and colleagues performed a study to investigate mechanisms regulating VEGF expression in bladder cancer. They published their study in British Journal of Cancer ("Eukaryotic initiation factor-4E in superficial and muscle invasive bladder cancer and its correlation with vascular endothelial growth factor expression and tumor progression," British Journal of Cancer, January 2000;82(1):161-166).
