Microcirculation Studied in Experimental Rat Cancer

Researchers from Germany conducted a study of angiogenesis and microcirculation in 16 male Lewis rats.

J. Schmidt and colleagues, University of Heidelberg, established their model by "induction of a duct-like pancreatic cancer in the pancreas and peritoneum by interposition of fragments of tumour between two inert transparent polymethylmethacrylate plates."

Schmidt et al. published their study in European Journal of Surgery ("Vascular structure and microcirculation of experimental pancreatic carcinoma in rats," Eur J Surg, 2000;166(4):328-335).
