Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor is Prognostic Factor

Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) marks survival and outcome in some patients with malignant colorectal tumors, according to a study reported by cancer researchers in London, England.

In fact, medical practitioners who find increased expression of this growth factor could potentially identify colorectal cancer patients who are node-negative but need adjuvant cancer therapies, E. Tsiompanou and colleagues reported at the British Cancer Research Meeting 2000.
