Grant Awarded to Develop Therapy Techniques To Enhance Tumor Cells Sensitivity

Introgen Therapeutics, Inc. (INGN), Austin, Texas, announced that it was awarded a Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) grant from the U.S. National Cancer Institute (NCI).

The grant will fund collaborative research between Introgen and Philip J. Tofilon, PhD, The University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, in Houston, to help advance the preclinical development of a vector that sensitizes tumor cells to radiotherapy.

The grant entitled "Radiosensitization by Anti-Ras scFv-Expressing Adenovirus" will fund studies in the use of AV1Y28, a modified adenoviral vector that carries a gene encoding a single-chain antibody fragment directed against...
