C. Subramanian and colleagues explained that EBV infection has been linked to cancers such as Burkitt lymphoma, nasopharyngeal carcinoma, lymphoproliferative disease, and possibly breast carcinoma. They also described how EBV immortalization of primary B-lymphocytes is dependent on a specific subset of latent EBV antigens.
