New Treatment Option For Inoperable Cancer Delivers Radiation Via Tiny Beads

Cancer specialists from the University of Maryland Greenebaum Cancer Center report that early results of a new treatment for inoperable liver cancer, known as TheraSphere, are promising.

They reported their findings at the 37th annual meeting of the American Society of Clinical Oncologists on May 15, 2001. The Greenebaum Cancer Center in Baltimore, Maryland, is the first in the U.S. to successfully perform the procedure.
