Telomerase is a ribonucleoprotein responsible for maintaining chromosomal integrity. It is overexpressed in many tumors and taming telomerase may serve as a widely inclusive treatment for cancer. A. Schindler and colleagues at the Technical University of Dresden, Germany, tried inhibiting telomerase in the context of prostate cancer.
