Implant Sciences to Expand Production Workforce By 50%

Implant Sciences Corp. (IMX), which manufactures I-Plant iodine-125 brachytherapy seeds for the treatment of prostate cancer, will increase its workforce by 50% to meet the growing demand for the seeds.

"We have already installed equipment to handle this new business, and management is currently in the process of hiring and training new employees," said Dr. Anthony J. Armini, president and chief executive officer of Implant Sciences Corp. "We expect to increase our production workforce in Wakefield, Massachusetts by approximately 50% during the next several weeks, to meet the growing demand for our I-Plant radioactive prostate seeds."
