"Red blood cell (RBC) transfusions or erythropoietin (EPO) can be used to evade the detrimental effects of anemia during radiotherapy, but the economic consequences of selecting either intervention are not well defined," explained Dr. Brian Kavanagh and colleagues at Virginia Commonwealth University.
