NCI Renews 5-Year, $12.5 Million Grant To UNC

The National Cancer Institute has renewed a five-year, $12.5 million grant for breast cancer studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

The money will support ongoing research and allow for new studies at the university's Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center. The grant is one of eight awarded nationally and is the only one awarded in the Southeast.

It is the third renewal for the Lineberger center, which was among the first research centers awarded the grant in 1992.
