Vessel density, gene status associate with superficial bladder cancer

by Sonia Nichols, senior medical writer - One of the first studies of its kind has detected independent associations between p53 tumor suppressor gene status, microvessel density, and superficial bladder cancer.

Although significant findings for both p53 and microvessel density were detected in specimens obtained from 84 bladder cancer patients, the authors of the new study doubted that p53 status was related to tumor angiogenesis, based on their evidence.
