Artemis Medical receives 510K clearance on new image-guided biopsy device

Artemis Medical, Inc., a privately held company developing innovative products for minimally invasive diagnosis, intervention, and treatment of breast cancer announced that it has received 510K clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the MiniTome Breast Biopsy System.

The MiniTome Breast Biopsy System is the first system of its kind capable of localizing and immobilizing target breast tissue more precisely than current techniques and accurately cutting and removing a large, architecturally intact sample through a minimally invasive incision. The advantage of an intact sample is that it provides a more definitive diagnosis.
