Researchers at Juntendo University School of Medicine have used a grading system that incorporates scores for necroinflammation, fibrosis, and liver enzyme levels to predict which patients will experience cancer recurrence after surgical resection for the primary liver cancer hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).
K. Matsumoto headed the investigation of 73 patients who underwent resections for HCV-related liver cancer.
