MDS Nordion expands radiopharmaceutical manufacturing facility

MDS Nordion's Nuclear Medicine Division is expanding its radiopharmaceutical manufacturing facilities to meet the growing demand for emerging cancer radiotherapeutics.

The new manufacturing wing adds about 80,000 square feet and capacity for five commercial-scale production suites to MDS Nordion's existing facilities. It will house development as well as full-scale commercial production infrastructure for radiopharmaceuticals - drugs that incorporate radioisotopes as an active ingredient.

With completion expected in late 2003, each of the new facility's suites will be dedicated to a unique project that MDS Nordion is working on with a partner. The...
