Experimental compound inhibits DNA skin cell damage

A human clinical trial of pharmaceutical company Novogen, Ltd.'s, novel skin repair compound NV-07a, has revealed a previously unrecognized benefit that researchers expect to have significant implications for protection of human skin from sunlight-induced damage.

The newly identified mode of action protects skin cells from damage to their DNA, a process that otherwise continues to occur over a period of days even after sun exposure has ceased.
