Postradiation osteosarcoma occurred after a short latency period of 3 years.

According to a study from Japan, "Osteosarcoma is one of the neoplasms that may occur following exposure to radiation. A case of osteosarcoma arising in the craniofacial bone with a short latency period of 3 years after radiotherapy for maxillary squamous cell carcinoma is described."
