Virulizin results published; FDA grants orphan drug status to GTI-2040

Scientists at Lorus Therapeutics, Inc., have published the results of experimental studies in mouse models bearing human tumors treated with Virulizin, the company's lead anticancer immunotherapeutic drug. Virulizin showed significant antitumor activity as a monotherapy and enhanced antitumor effects when used in combination with standard chemotherapy agents against a panel of human pancreatic tumors and melanoma.
