Cyclophosphamide urotoxicity may be avoided by coadministering sulphur compounds

By coadministering diallyl sulfide compounds with cyclophosphamide, necrotic type pathology in the bladder was avoided in mice. According to a study from India, "Treatment of Swiss albino mice with naturally occurring sulphur compounds such as Diallyl sulphide (DAS) (500 mug/dose/animal, i.p) and Diallyl Disulphide (DADS)(250 mug/dose/animal, i.p) for five days along with cyclophosphamide (CTX) (1.5 mmol/kg.body.wt; i.p) reduced the CTX induced urotoxicity.
