Carcinoembryonic antigen and cytokeratin 20 can warn of peritoneal recurrence

Postsurgical peritoneal micrometastasis can be detected and recurrence may therefore be predicted using RT-PCR for carcinoembryonic antigen and cytokeratin 20 to follow up colon cancer patients.
