Maspin nuclear staining was significantly associated with good prognosis in breast cancer.

According to recent research from the United States, "Maspin is a unique serine protease inhibitor with a molecular weight of 42 kDa.

"It has been shown to inhibit tumor cell motility and invasion in cell culture, and tumor growth and metastasis in animal models.

"There is very limited data on the prognostic utility of maspin in human breast cancer," wrote S.K. Mohsin and colleagues, Baylor College of Medicine, Breast Center.
