U.S. patent issued for new formulations of anticancer drug

SuperGen, Inc., (NASDAQ:SUPG) announced that it has been issued U.S. Patent No. 6,538,020, which covers new and improved formulations of the anticancer drug paclitaxel, methods of manufacturing these formulations, kits containing these formulations, and methods of treating cancer patients using these formulations.

The new and improved formulations include pharmaceutically acceptable, water miscible solubilizers other than Cremophor which are believed to have improved long-term stability and may reduce adverse side-effects relative to existing formulations.
