Definitive surgery is the goal for orbital schwannomas and neurofibromas

Surgical resection of five orbital peripheral nerve tumors did not result in local recurrences, researchers in Germany report.

"We present an overview of the treatment and clinical outcome of five orbital peripheral nerve tumors, carried out in our center from 1999 to 2003. The surgical approach was determined by the location and extension of the lesion," wrote U. Schick and colleagues, Duisburg Clinic, Neurological Surgery Clinic.
