Chromosome 18 plays a role in suppressing prostate cancer growth and metastases

A mouse prostate cancer model shows that chromosome 18 has role in inhibiting growth and metastases of prostate cancer.

According to a study from the United States, "Loss of heterozygosity and allelic imbalance data have shown that there are two distinct regions of loss on chromosome 18q associated with the progression of prostate cancer (CaP)."
