New 10-minute test for ulcer screening introduced

Biomerica, Inc., (BMRA) announced that it has introduced a new 10 minute rapid diagnostic test for detecting Helicobacter pylori, a bacterium responsible for over 85% of ulcers.

The new one step test will initially be marketed internationally to doctors and drug stores.

Epidemiological studies have shown that the H. pylori infection is widespread, affecting over one billion people worldwide. It has been shown that nearly all duodenal ulcer patients and over 80% of stomach ulcer patients, are infected with the bacterium. Both men and women are effected by the disease.
