Caelyx demonstrates efficacy, reduced cardiac toxicity

Schering-Plough Europe reported that results of a randomized phase III clinical study demonstrated that Caelyx (pegylated liposomal doxorubicin hydrochloride) provided comparable efficacy in the first-line treatment of metastatic breast cancer with significantly reduced cardiac toxicity compared to conventional doxorubicin, one of the most active drugs in the treatment of breast cancer.
