Nastech Pharmaceutical Co., Inc., (NSTK) announced the issuance of a second U.S. patent, no. 6,689,073, entitled "Methods and Devices for Collecting, Handling and Processing Mammary Fluid Samples for Evaluating Breast Diseases, Including Cancer." The patent contains 48 claims relating to methods, devices, and kits for obtaining and assaying biological samples from mammary fluid and cytological samples from the mammary glands of a mammalian subject for evaluating, diagnosing, and managing breast disease, including infections, precancerous conditions, cancer susceptibility, and cancer.
