Mutant p53 expression linked to drug resistance in a hepatocellular carcinoma

Study finds that the p53 mutant, R248Q, in a liver cancer cell line may enhance chemotherapy drug resistance.

"Chemoresistance is a major problem in the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma. Certain p53 mutants may enhance drug resistance in cancer cell," scientists in People's Republic of China report.
