According to recent research published in the journal Urological Research, "the aim of the study was to quantify the expression of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF) and epidermal growth factor (EGF) in prostate cancer and adjacent non-tumorous tissue in a standardized experimental set-up and to evaluate the paracrine effects of three endothelial stimuli on neovascularization."
