DNA vaccine plus vaccinia virus infection induce anti-cancer response

DNA vaccination followed by vaccinia virus infection induced a cytotoxic T-cell response against steroidogenic acute regulatory protein in a mouse adrenal carcinoma model.

"Adrenocortical carcinoma (ACC) is still one of the most devastating human tumors with a five year survival as low as 20%. In a previous study, we showed that DNA vaccination followed by vaccinia virus was able to break immune tolerance against murine steroidogenic acute regulatory (mStAR). Prophylactic vaccination in syngenic mice resulted in protective immunity against Sp2-0 tumor cells expressing mStAR.
