Pharmaceuticals announces phase 1/2 trial of combination lung cancer drug

Spectrum Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (SPPI) announced that its co-development partner for satraplatin, GPC Biotech AG (GPC), has opened for enrollment a phase 1/2 trial to evaluate satraplatin.

Satrplatin is an oral platinum compound. It will be evaluated in combination with simultaneous, standard doses of radiotherapy in patients with locally advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).

The principal investigator of the open-label, single-center trial is Hak Choy, MD, professor and chair of the Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Dallas.
