Companies combine technologies to search for cancer-fighting compounds

Tripos, Inc. (TRPS), and NovaScreen Biosciences Corporation have announced a collaboration to provide a drug discovery solution to Strida Pharma Inc. for its cancer therapeutics development program focused methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase (MTHFR).

Launched in August 2004, the collaboration brings together Tripos' knowledge-driven chemistry expertise and NovaScreen's assay development and biological screening capabilities to provide Strida with drug discovery support. Tripos will identify, design and synthesize suitable compounds for biological activity assessment in an MTHFR assay developed by NovaScreen.
