ATAC trial data reported comparing anastrozole to tamoxifen

New data presented on December 8, 2004, from the world's largest early breast cancer treatment trial (ATAC) indicate that Arimidex (anastrazole; AstraZeneca) reduced the relative risk of breast cancer recurrence by 17% over tamoxifen in the clinically relevant hormone receptor-positive patients for whom Arimidex is indicated. The presentation also reviewed the safety profile of Arimidex compared to tamoxifen after 68 months of follow-up.
