More research needed to clarify etiologic role of hormone-receptor expression

A review of the medical literature led researchers with the U.S. National Cancer Institute (NCI) to conclude that more research is needed to understand the etiologic role of estrogen receptor and/or progesterone receptor expression in breast cancer. "Breast cancers classified by estrogen receptor (ER) and/or progesterone receptor (PR) expression have different clinical, pathologic, and molecular features.
