Study shows long-term responses in non-Hodgkin patients treated with Zevalin

Research presented at the American Society of Hematology 46th Annual Meeting (ASH) indicates that Zevalin (ibritumomab tiuxetan) frequently produces durable long-term responses in patients with relapsed or refractory B-cell NHL. These data show that in patients who respond to Zevalin, a monoclonal antibody, the median duration of response is 52 months.

Patients whose cancer did not progress until after 12 months were considered to have a long-term response. A high proportion of these patients was older than 60 years and had received at least 3 prior therapies for their disease.
