Research in HIV/AIDS cancer provides new insights

Reports from the United Kingdom, United States and Italy highlight recent research on HIV/AIDS cancer.

Study 1: Protease inhibitor treatment increases the risk of chemotherapy-induced neutropenia in patients with AIDS-related non-Hodgkin lymphoma (ARL).

"Pharmacokinetic interactions between chemotherapy and highly active anti-retroviral therapy (HAART) are described, but there are few data on their clinical relevance," oncologists in England explained.
