Company completes ELISA CA-125 tumor marker development

DRG Instruments, GmbH, announced the completion of a new sandwich CA-125 quantitative ELISA (enzyme linked immunosorbent assay) kit based on the "Platinum Standard" of CA-125 antibodies initially developed by Centocor, now a division of the Fujirebio Co.

The measurement range for undiluted samples is 0-500 U/ml. The tests require no prior dilution. Results are obtained in 1 hour.

CA-125, a tumor-associated glycoprotein predominantly expressed by cancerous tissues, is reported to be the best established tumor marker in the management of patients suffering from ovarian cancer. The marker is useful for evaluating pelvic masses in postmenopausal women,...
