Radiotherapy-induced heart complications reviewed

Cardiac complications associated with cancer radiotherapy have been reviewed.

"Irradiation of the heart begets different complications in which pericardial disease is the most common manifestation," oncologists in France explained. "Thoracic irradiation of lymphoma, Hodgkin disease, lung and breast cancer" can be "complicated by adverse effects to every structure of the heart."
