Therapeutics company reports financial results

Metabasis Therapeutics, Inc., (MBRX) reported financial results for the fourth quarter and year ended December 31, 2004. Revenues for the 3 months and year ended December 31, 2004, were $0.4 million and $6.8 million, respectively, compared to $0.3 million and $9.1 million for the same periods in 2003. The decrease in annual revenues was primarily due to lower license fee revenues, which was attributable to a one-time payment associated with an exclusive option agreement with Sankyo that expired in 2003.
