"The breast cancer-associated gene mammaglobin is a member of the secretoglobin protein family and has demonstrated its utility as a breast cancer marker. However, the transcriptional regulation of mammaglobin has not been well characterized. In this report, we used luciferase reporter assays to identify the 200 bp directly 5' of the transcriptional start site as the minimal promoter region of mammaglobin," scientists in the United States reported.
