Molecular diagnostic test detects early-state disease, may improve diagnosis

Medical College of Wisconsin Cancer Center researchers at Froedtert Hospital have assembled the components to develop a rapid, sensitive, diagnostic test to detect very early stage breast cancer.

Such a test could also differentiate specific types of breast tumors at the molecular level. This differentiation could improve diagnosis, lead to more effective individualized treatments, and provide the ability to monitor therapeutic results in real time.
