Study says soy protein consumption can reduce risk of breast cancer

Regular consumption of soy protein-containing foods and beverages may reduce the risk of breast cancer in women by as much as 22%, according to a study published in The International Journal of Cancer Prevention.

Authored by Lin Yan, PhD, director of cancer research for The Solae company, and Edward Spitznagel, PhD, professor of mathematics at Washington University, the recently released study is a meta-analysis (a combined analysis of all available studies) of the 12 epidemiological studies published to date that relate to soy consumption and breast cancer in women.
