Impact of ROSE during transbronchial needle aspiration assessed

Scientists determined the impact of rapid on-site cytologic evaluation (ROSE) during transbronchial needle aspiration (TBNA).

Researchers from the United States conducted a study "to determine the extent to which ROSE of TBNA samples can safely and cost-effectively reduce the need for additional biopsy during bronchoscopy."

"Forty-four bronchoscopies with TBNA, most of which utilized ROSE, were evaluated prospectively.
