Death rates from breast cancer have dropped by 2.3% a year since 1990, the report says, and the decline is most pronounced among younger women.
According to the report, "Breast Cancer Facts & Figures 2005-2006," the incidence of breast cancer actually increased by 0.3% a year from 1987 to 2002, the latest year for which figures are available.
