Pilot program launched offering affordable access to community-based oncologists

Oncology Therapeutics Network (OTN) announced the launch of a pilot program involving OTN customers and six regional managed care companies.

Scheduled to begin early in the fourth quarter, the managed care pilot program is designed to identify solutions to help improve affordable quality care for people with cancer and help strengthen relationships between community-based oncologists and health plans.

In the pilot program, providers and payors will work to gather, review and analyze baseline treatment data with the goal of developing pay-for-performance initiatives for providers as well as physician-based recommendations to improve cancer management....
