The use of dietary supplements might have adverse interactions with chemotherapy, prompting the need for healthcare providers to ask patients about their use.

"There is little data on the prevalence of use of dietary supplements in cancer, especially in light of the growing evidence that some dietary supplements can have adverse interactions with conventional cancer treatment. The purpose of this study was to investigate the use of dietary supplements among adult cancer patients in a community hospital comprehensive cancer center," scientists in the United States reported.
