Komen Tulsa affiliate awards $340,000 to local organizations to aid breast cancer fight

The Tulsa Affiliate of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation has selected three Tulsa, Oklahoma-based nonprofit organizations to receive grant awards totaling $340,000. The announcement was made by affiliate president Chris Payne during a ceremony at CityPlex Towers, home of the Komen Tulsa Race for the Cure. The total grants awarded represent a 13% increase over last year. Recipients, which include Indian Health Care Resource Center of Tulsa, Tulsa Project Woman, Inc. and Y-Me National Breast Cancer Organization, Northeastern Oklahoma Affiliate, will help the Komen Foundation efforts to eradicate breast cancer as a life-threatening disease through research,...
