No link shown between mobile phone use and increased risk of glioma tumors

Mobile phones are not associated with an increased risk of the most common type of brain tumor, according to results of the first U.K. study of the relationship between mobile phone use and risk of glioma. The 4-year study, by researchers at the Universities of Leeds, Nottingham, and Manchester and the Institute of Cancer Research, London, found those who had regularly used a mobile phone were not at a greater overall risk of developing this type of tumor. First author Sarah J Hepworth, corresponding author Patricia A McKinney, professor of pediatric epidemiology- both at Leeds - and their colleagues reported their findings in the British Medical Journal online...
